The pain you’ve gone thru in your life can play a major role in when it comes to working on self esteem. It may not seem like it at the time but pain is often the best reason to change.
Being constantly broke or unhealthy due to poor eating habits can (and should) force you into doing things differently.
The experience doesn’t always have to be negative. Watching a show on TV may inspire you to become a writer. Seeing an athlete in top physical condition may get you to start exercising.
Good or bad. Whenever or wherever it happened these experiences can provide the motivation needed to improve your self esteem.
So how do you harness and maintain that motivation in the crazy world we live in?
A – Achieve your dreams. Someone once said “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” Believe in your dreams and know you’re going to get there. Which brings us to…
B – Believe in you and and the limitless potential inside of you
C – Consider new ways of looking at things. Working on self esteem is about getting out of your box and taking a different point of view.
D – Don’t give up. Oprah Winfrey was fired from her first television job. How’d that turn out? Stay motivated and never give in to the naysayers. In fact use them as more motivation.
E – Enjoy. Working on self esteem is not drudgery. It means your in the process of getting better. Be happy and enjoy the trip.
F – Friends and Family . Sometimes they can get on your last nerve but they’re two of the best gifts life will ever give you.
G – Go above and beyond. When you make the extra effort in your relationships or on the job and do it from the heart good things happen for you and everyone involved.
H – Hang on. It may get shaky from time to time but your dreams are what keeps you going. When things get rough hold on to them that much tighter.
I – Ignore miserable people. Good news is bad in their world. Working on self esteem is toxic to people always focused on the negative. You don’t need that.
J – Just be yourself. Trying to be something you’re not is a recipe for trouble. You can’t be all things to all people. Trust who you are
K – Keep trying. Sometimes it feels like in spite of your best efforts you’re not making the progress or that you’ve had one too many setbacks. That’s going to happen from time to time. Learn from it and keep going.
L – Like yourself. Don’t worry about loving yourself that will come as you continue working on self esteem. Enjoy your own company first and the rest will take care of itself.
M – Make it happen. It’s not enough to dream. You have to take action. Decide you’re going to do it then do it.
